How MHP collects and uses information

The MHP website automatically collects and stores non-personal information from visitors. For example, we can see how many people come to the website, which pages they look at and how long they stay.

This information does not identify anyone personally. We use it to improve the website for our members and visitors.

Our website does not collect personal information without your permission. "Personal information" includes things like your name, address, Social Security number, e-mail address or telephone number.

We ask for personal information when you use the Live Chat or My MHP Member Portal. This information helps us answer your questions, and deliver products or services to you.

The first time you use the Member Portal, we will ask for your Medicaid I.D. number, the last 4 digits of your Social Security number, your date of birth, first and last name, email address and phone number. If you choose to give that information, we use it to verify your identity. We also use it to give you a user name and password for our Member Portal account.

If you use the Live Chat service, we use the information you type in to help answer your question. We keep this information for a short time. We use this information for training purposes. Training helps us give you better service.

E-mail

Most email is unencrypted. This means that it can be seen by other Internet users while it is being sent, without the sender's permission. The sender may not know if someone else sees it.

To protect your privacy, please do not use email to send MHP confidential information. MHP cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any e-mail while it is being sent through the Internet. Use of the Internet is solely at your own risk.
